"The most significant advance in running training since the original interval training."
Coach to the Coaches- Peter Thompson
Are you ready to adapt “Old” interval training? Ready to call time on those Anaerobic Threshold runs? Prepare to ditch the Heart Rate monitor and run to your Rhythm?
We went to Eugene Oregon and met up with our friend Peter Thompson. Peter has lived in Eugene Oregon since the early seventies and formally innovated New Interval Training.
He has developed a terrific website explaining the concept and this methodology has been adopted by many coaches worldwide.
In addition to coaching his own squad of athletes, he has coached coaches in addition to coaching athletes on camps and clinics in 45 countries. He has also written many of the coaching manuals for the IAAF.
He is Vice President of the British Milers Club. He received a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Geology from the University of London, a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Physical Education, Geography and Geology from Carnegie College, University of Leeds, a Master of Science in Biomechanics from the University of Oregon and undertook further Master studies in Sport Psychology and Doctoral studies in the Social Psychology of Sport at the University of Oregon.
